The 1850 Census shows John M. Cramer, age 39, as a hotel keeper in Castalia, living with Nancy, four daughters, Malissa and Mary Button, and a number of hotel guests.
The date of death is from Castalia Cemetery records. The custodian believes that the file card used information obtained from the stone years ago. Age at death appears on the stone as 49 years, (?) months, and 10 days. Elsewhere he is said to have been 43 which is more consistent with the 1850 Census and his parents date of marriage if the date of death was 1853.
