  The last will and testament of Thomas McPherson, in the name of Lord Amen. I Thomas McPherson of the County of Indiana in the State of Pennsylvania being weAR in body, but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and considering the ceretainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me home do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say, First and pricipally I comit my soul into the hands of almighty God who gave it and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the direction of my Executors herein after named - and after my lawfull debts and Funeral charges are paid I durse and bequeath as follows: Item - I give and bequeath unto my dear and beloved wife Mary all of the profits rents and advantages that may arise from the tract of land whereon I now reside to be at her disposal and for her support and maintaining and schooling my youngest children. I do hereby authorise and require my Executor to make sale of the tract of land above mentioned at any time when they may think proper and the money arising from said sale be applied to the discharging of my obligation to Benjamin B. Cooper for said tract of land. I also give unto my wife Mary my horses, cattle and my other stock Beds and beding household and kitchen furniture and all other of my personal property that may in any sense belong to me at the time of my desease (except that part which I will hereafter except) to be for her use and under her control for and during her natural life - The foregoing personal property to be appraised and no part to be sold without the consent of my wife _ Item _ I give and bequeath to my son David McPherson my Family Bible _ Item _ I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth M. McGaughney all the property which she has received from me amounting to seventy two dollars which I consider to be her proportion of my estate _ Item _ I give and bequeath to my Daughter Jane D. Travis all the propert she has required from me amounting to sixty two dollars for her share in full. Item _ I give and bequeath to my son John McPherson one pocket Bible. Item _ I give and bequeath to my Daughter Peggy H. McPherson one Bed and beding one cow one Spinning wheel a Side Sadle and five Dollars in Cash to be raised out of my estate. Item _ I give and bequeath to my son Joseph McPherson one pocket Bible _ Item _ I give and bequeath to my son Thomas McPherson one pocket Bible _ Item _ I give and bequeath to my son James McPherson one pocket Bible _ Item _ I give and bequeath to my sons David, John, Joseph, Thomas and James (after the death of my wife) all my right title or subtitle in or to the Tract of land I live on or any profits arising from the sale thereof after my debt is paid to Benjamin B. Cooper together with all the personal property that shall be left at the desease of my wife shall be divided amongst my five sons, share and share alike _ And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Mary McPherson my Executrix and my son David McPherson Executor of this my last will and testament revoking and anulling all former wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and none others to be my last will and testament _ In testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of January , one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven.   Be it remembered that on the thirtieth day of April 1827 the above last will and testament of Thomas McPherson was duly proved by the subscribing witnesses to wit Joshua Levine and Samuel Kerr. Letters testamentary issued same day to the executors therein named who were duly sworn.
