Note: N5792 Lewisburg - Laird Harris Cromley, 87, of 230 N. Fifth St., died Sunday in the Buffalo Nursing Home, Lewisburg. Mr. Cromley had been in the roofing, heating and plumbing business most of his life. He was a member of the St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Lewisburg and was a veteran of the Mexican War having served with the cavalry unit from Lewisburg. Mr. Cromley was a member of the William Cameron Engine Company for more than 55 years and a member of the Central District Fireman's Association. He also was a member of the Elks Lodge 913 of Milton, the Independent order of Odd Fellows Lodge 96, Lewisburg and the Royal Arcanum. A native of Union County, born in Lewisburg, Oct. 30, 1886, he wass the son of the late William and Alda McPherson Cromley. His wife, the former Mabel Bordner died before him. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Madelyn Dolota of Lewisburg; Mrs. Lucille Krodish of Martinsburg, W. Va.; Donald of North Wilbraham, Mass., four grandchildren and two great-grand-children. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Martin Warm of Seminole, Fla.; and a brother, John of Lewisburg. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Lewisburg, by the Rev, Donald Goshorn. Burial will be in the Lewisburg Cemetery. Friends and relatives will be received in the funeral home Tuesday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the William Cameron Fire Company.
