Note: Obituary Blatnick, Eleanor Ruth, 84, of Canon Cinty, Colorado, died July 29, 2007 in Colorado. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Wilson Chapel in Canon City. Eleanor Ruth Blatnick 84, passed away on July 29, 2007, in Canon City, Eleanor was born August 14, 1922 to Edward F. and Grace C. (Tudor) Turnbull in Stockton, Kansas. The family moved from Kansas to Colorado in 1937, and finally settled in Canon City, in 1939, Eleanor graduated from CCHS in 1940. She married Ignace Blatnick on her 18th Birthday, August 14, 1940, in Raton New Mexico. In 1942, they bought their house on Stanley Avenue, where she lived until her death. Eleanor worked as a CNA at Skyline Ridge and PPC Nursing homes. After her retirement in 1991, she continued to volunteer at the nursing homes and Bruce McCandless Veterans Home in Florence. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary 4061 in Canon City and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary 2123 in Canon City for 37 years. She loved bowling and was a member of the Colorado Womens Bowling Association. Eleanor also belonged to the TOPS organization nad was an active member of the local AARP, Chapter. In July, she attended the reunion of the class of 1940 CCHS, which she never missed in 67 years. She loved to travel and most of all spending time with family and friends. Eleanor is survived by daughter, Ruth Ann (Fritz) Ungrad on Canon City, Sons Stanley (Patty) Blatnick, of Canon City, Grandchildren, Scott Ungrad, Monte (Tammy) Blatnick, Jennifer (Hiram) Obemert, Pamela Blatnick, Misty Zink, Sheriann McKinney-Cruz, Les (Jo-Etta) King, and Shelly (Stacy) Allen: Great- grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, and Raschon Blatnick, Anthony and Corrine Blatnick, Alton McKinney-Cruz, Carlos Jr. Marybella, and Hector Cruz, Kevin and Devin King. Cassandra, Stetson, and Chelsia Allen, Sister, Norman Blatnick of Trinidad, Dearest friend, Ida Geiger, brother Lloyd, (Carol) Turnbull of Buena Vista, brother in law John (Joy) Blatnick of Florence, sister's in law, Barbara Petersen, and Marge Turnbull and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ignace April 24, 1991, her parents, and Brothers, Orlin and Leonard Turnbull, brother in law, Henry Blatnick, two grandchildren, one nephew, and two nieces. She will be missed by her family, friends, and especially by her dearest friend Ida Geiger. Memorial service will be at 2 PM Saturday, August 4, 2007, ath the Wilson Chapel in Canon City, with Ruth Ann Ungrad officiating. Inturnment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City.
