ROGERS KNOW IF THERE SHOULD BE NO LAWFUL CAUSE TO OBSTRUCT SAID MARRIAGE, THERE THIS OBLIGATION TO BE VOID ELSE TO REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND VIRTUE. WITNESS; THOMAS NAPPER L.A. BRYON 1850 Clay County, Kentucky Census House and Household # 619 George W. Gilliland age 35 male occupation Mill ?Loary born in Virginia Ann Gilliland his Wife age 29 or 25 born in Tennessee and cannot read or write daughter Mary age 7 born in Kentucky son James age 5 born in Kentucky son Woodward D. age 2 born in Kentucky daughter Frances age 5/12 born in Kentucky THOMAS NAPPER AGE 23 MALE BORN IN VIRGINIA CANNOT READ OR WRITE (Maybe he was a Mill Hand) no other Napier/Napper listed near by. Thomas's first wife, they were only married a few months, is listed on the 1850 Clay Country, Kentucky census, and is listed as Mahala Nappier with no husband. She is living with her Sister and Brother in Law( Anna Louise Hacker married to William Hinkle. A couple of houses away is James Napper who is the son of Edmond Napper and Sarah Howard. Thomas Napier had a blind brother living with him in Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky named Edmond/Edmund Napper. On the Previous Page is Edmond Napier and Sarah Howard with 3 Children. DNA Match Ancestry.com PenelopeHubbard has a match of 96% 4th to 6th Cousin Match. She descends from Frances Napier married to Ephraim Howard. He was the son of Edward Howard and Rebecca Osborne. Frances was the Daughter of Edmond Napier and Sarah Howard. Barton Napier the son of Edmond Napper and Matilda Ely is living in 1870 in Clay County, Kentucky with Iredell Wyatt married to Margaret Jane Morgan The daughter of Abel Morgan and Sarah Lewis the son of Zachariah Morgan and Mary Holt. Chloe Napier married to Joseph Morgan born February 2, 1807 in Lee County, Virginia was married to Chloe Napier the daughter of Edmond Napper/Napier and Sarah Howard. Thomas Napier also named a son William Barton Napier. Thomas say's on the census's that he was born in Lee County, Virginia. His first wife Mahaha Hacker/Napper seperated only after a few's month of marriage. She is found on the 1850 Census as Mahala Nappier living with a William Hinkle and her sister. Mahala is listed very close to Joseph Morgan married to Chloe Napper, and Chloe's parents, Edmond Napper and Sarah Howard-Napper, are also listed near Mahala I feel that Edmond might be Thomas's father and Sarah Howard his Mother. Some researcher's think Robert Napper found in the 1830 Lee County, Virginia census is his father but, none of the first names are similar. They were notorious for naming their children after grandparent's uncles etc. Thomas had a blind brother living with him named Edmond Franklin. That name is very prominent with Edmond married to Howard but not with Robert Napper. No one named their children Robert. Lee County, Virginia Harlan County, Kentucky and Claiborne County, Tennessee all boardered each other. Thomas may have been born in Harlan County, Kentucky When it was still part of Lee County, Virginia before the Boarder's changed. Maybe if there is a marriage license for Mahala Hacker and her short marriage to Thomas it may solve this mystery. No Napper's in 1810 Clay County, Kentucky, 1810 Floyd County, Kentucky or Knox, County Kentucky 1820 Harlan County, Kentucky Edmund Napier 45 Born 1775 or Before. 1850 Clay County, Kentucky George Gilliland age 35 born in Virginia His name is Actually Gillilan Ann 35 born in Tennessee Mary 7 James 5 Woodward D. age 2 Frances Female 2/12 Nosse, Thomas age 23 born In Virginia THIS IS ACTUALLY THOMAS NAPPER
