a. Note:   ed Sunday at a local convalescent home after a short illness. She was 98. A native of Watsonville, she attended Moreland Notre Dame Elementary school, Watsonville High School and, graduated in 1928 from San Jose State with a bachelor's degree in teaching. She taught for 40 years. Her first teaching job was with the Seaside School in Swanton Where she taught all eight grades in a one-room school. The next year she taught at the Railroad School on Riverside Drive, teaching fifth to Eighth Grades. After a year there, she taught grades 6-8 at the old Watsonville Grammer School on East Lake Avenue and, Sudden Street. She stayed there unil E.A. Hall School was built. At E. A. Hall she taught seventh and eighth grade socia studies and, English. After she retired in 1968, she traveled to Europe, Asia, South America and all over the United States. She also loved to Garden, Play Cards, And Sew And Read. She loved animals and donated to may animal organizations. Ms. Strazicich was good with her hands and could fix and, make many things. She is survived by her nieces, Ann Bachovich of Watsonville and Sister Florence Cumbelich of Fremont, and numerous Cousins. A vigil service will be 7 p.m. today at Mehl's Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Avenue, Watsonville. A Mass of Christian burial will be announced. Burial will follow at Valley Catholic Cemetery, Friends may call at Mehl's today from 9 to 5 pm. Contributions in Ms. Strazicich's name may be made to St. Francis High School, Moreland Notre Dame School, Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose or th a favorite Charity.
