Note:   According to Hazen family oral tradition, Marietta, her husband William,and two of their children contracted typhoid while living in Alabama in 1897. Of the four of them, Marietta was the only to survive the illness.
  In the 1900 Stark County, Ohio Census, the widowed Marietta, listed as "Etta", and her children reside in Marlboro Township. She is a seamstress. The record states that she is the mother of six children, three of whom are living as of that time, and that both of her parents were born in Ohio.
  After her husband's death, Marietta returned to the Alliance, Stark County, Ohio area. She then remarried and resided in the Mount Union area of Alliance following her second husband's death in 1905. At the time of her death, which was due to arteriosclerosis, Marietta was residing with her daughter, Bertha, in Paris Twp., Stark County.
