a. Note:   She was frequently known as "Ann".
  According to the 1880 Meigs County, Ohio Census, both of Ann's parents were born in Wales.
  In the 1900 Meigs County, Ohio Census, Ann is Head of Household. She and her children reside in Pomeroy. The record states that, as of that time, she is the mother of twelve children, eleven of whom are living, and that both of her parents were born in Wales.
  In the 1910 Meigs County, Ohio Census, Ann, entered as "Ann B. Thomas", and her son, Will, reside in Pomeroy. The record states that both of Ann's parents were born in Wales.
  Ann's cause of death was organic heart disease.
  Her cemetery marker identifies her as "Ann B.", "w/o John B.".
  Ann's obituary in the Wednesday, 29 January 1913 Pomeroy Tribune - Telegraph (Pomeroy, Meigs County, Ohio) is as follows:
  "MRS. JOHN THOMAS Died Saturday After a Prolonged Illness of Heart Trouble.
  Mrs. John Thomas died at her home on Lincoln Hill Saturday morning at 4 o'clock, after a lingering illness of heart trouble and asthma, aged 77 years.
  Mrs. Thomas' husband, who was an old soldier, preceded her to the grave four years ago last September.
  The following children survive: Mrs. Spencer Hysell, Thomas Fork; Thomas, of Chauncey; Mrs. Chas.. Michael[sic], Mrs. Lathey Craig[sic] and Mrs. Henry Michael[sic] of Logan, O.; Mrs Henry Knoephner[sic] of Cincinnati; Mrs. Emerson Flowers of Sugar Grove, O.; John of Kerrs Run; Will and Mrs. Thomas Elbin of this city.
  The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Baptist church conducted by Rev. Griffin and her remains were interred in Beech Grove c[sic]emetery."
