Note:   In the 1870 Stark County, Ohio Census, Charles, age 8 and "at school" resides in Washington Township at Mount Union with his maternal aunt and uncle, Samuel and Anna P. (Ladd) Hoiles and their sons.
  There is a Charles Miller, age 19 and born in Ohio, who resides in Douglas in the 1880 Polk County, Iowa Census. He works as a laborer.
  In the 1900 Stark County, Ohio Census, Charles and Susan adn their daughter reside in Washington Township. He is a farmer. Next door to them resides the following household (as of yet no relationship has been proved but it is quite possible that they are relatives):
  Miller, William b. Mar 1857 in Ohio to parents born in Ohio; farmer Amanda b. Oct. 1859 in Ohio to parents born in Ohio; she is the mother of four children, three of whom are living as of that time; William and Amanda have been married twenty-two years as of that time Alice M. b. May 1879 in Ohio (daughter) James P. b. July 1880 in Ohio (son) Jessie O. b. December 1882 in Ohio (daughter)
  In the 1910 Stark County, Ohio Census, Charles, who works as a grocery store deliveryman, and his wife, Susan, reside with their daughter and son-in-law, Nellie and Clyde, in Alliance. The record states that both of Charles' parents were born in Ohio.
  Charles is mentioned in a Monday, 28 May 1928 Alliance Review (Alliance, Stark County, Ohio) article in relationship to his aunt, Emma Miller Piper, as follows:
  "C.F. Miller of South Arch a[sic]venue attended the funeral services of his aunt Mrs. Emma Miller Piper at Coal Center, Pa., Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian church of that place. Interment was made at Coal Center. Mrs. Piper passed away at the Alliance City hosptial Friday morning. For eight winters, Mrs. Piper had been residing at the home of Mrs. Hattie Wood on Rice s[cic]treet. Friends and neighbors called at the Cassaday and Turkle home Friday evening."
  This article links Charles as a grandson of Emma Miller Piper's parents, namely Daniel and Catharine Stroup Miller.
  In the 1930 Stark County, Ohio Census, Charles and Susan reside in Alliance. Charles works as a ticket agent.
  Charles' obituary in the Wednesday, 18 June 1930 Alliance Review (Alliance, Stark County, Ohio) is as follows:
  "C.F. Miller"
  "C.F. Miller, 68, of 922 East Grant s[sic]treet, died at 8:30 Tuesday evening, following a short illness.
  He was a lifelong resident of Alliance and for the last 13 years had been employed by the Stark Electric railroad company.
  He was a member of the Maccabes lodge, Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Raliway Employees. He also attended the First Presbyterian church.
  Surviving him are his wife, Susan, and one daughter, Mrs. Clyde Callahan.
  Funeral services will be held from the home at 922 East Grant s[sic]treet, Friday afternoon at two o'clcock in charge of Rev. J. V. Stephens, Jr., pastor of the First Presbyterian church.
  Friends may call at the home Thursday evening from seven to nine. Interment will be made in Mt. Union c[sic]emetery."
  Charles' death certificate identifies his parents "Allen Miller" and "Mary Ladd", both born in Columbiana County, Ohio. The informant for the document was his widow, "Suzan Miller", of 922 East Grant Street, Alliance. He was employed as a railroad agent. His cause of death was "acute dilation of the heart" with "acute nephritis" as a contributory cause.
