Note: Jennings is the son of James Edward Eakins and Georgia Griggs.
Jennings worked in the CCC in his teens. In 1940, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served there for 17 years. He served during World War II and The Korean War Action. During WWII, he was in the 101st Airborne and was in the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Invasion. In 1957, he started work for The American Steel Company in Alliance, Stark County, Ohio, and remained there until he retired in 1982.
Jennings died as the result of a stroke.
