Notes
a. Note:   H4898
Note:   According to Columbiana County, Ohio Deed Book 45, page 106, on 4 May 1850, "John Freshly and Mary Freshley, wife of said John Freshly" sold 113 acres of land in the southeast quarter of Range 5, Section 13, Township 17, Columbiana County, Ohio which was originally patented to John Emery in a half section by President James Madison 1 October 1811 and also 20 acres in the northeast quarter of Butler Township, Section 19 to Andrew Summers. This deed is listed sequentially with the sale by Mary's brother, Daniel, and with their uncle, William Stroup and wife's sale of land in the same location. These sales suggest that Mary and her brother inherited their mother's share of their maternal grandfather, William Stroup's, estate upon his death in 1847.
In the 1860 Stark County, Ohio Census, Mary is identified as "Maria".
According to the 1880 Columbiana County, Ohio Census, both of Mary's parents were born in Pennsylvania.
Mary and her husband joined the Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church in Homeworth, Columbiana County, Ohio on 25 September 1883.
