Note:   In the 1910 Athens County, Ohio Census, Clyde is single and resides at home with his widowed father and siblings in York Township. He works as a laborer at a coal mine.
  Clyde married Grace M. Smith 21 May 1913 in Athens County, Ohio. Grace is the daughter of Jacob Smith. Grace was born in 1891, died 11 October 1913 in Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio, and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio.
  Clyde married secondly to Josephine Mounts 15 September 1915 in Mingo County, West Virginia. Josie is the daughter of George Mounts and Sarah Chapman and was born in April, 1897, in West Virginia.
  In the 1920 Meigs County, Ohio Census, Clyde and his wife, Josie, reside in Salisbury Township. Clyde is a coal miner.
  According to The Martin Family, Clyde lived most of his life in the Athens County and Meigs County, Ohio areas. He lived for a while with his brother, Osby, in Colorado, and, in his later years, he moved to Kanawha County, West Virginia.
  Clyde never had any children.
  The informant for Clyde's death certificate was his sister, Oma (Martin) Beagle. The record names his parents as "Chas. Martin", born in "Baim[sic]bridge, O.", and "Delila Hupp", born in "Honana, Ill.". The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the heart with a 12-gauge shotgun. Clyde was dying of cancer at the time.
  Clyde's obituary in the 12 July 1942 Athens Messenger (Athens, Athens County, Ohio) is as follows:
  "Nelsonville - Burial services for Clyde Martin, age 51, former Nelsonville resident who died earlier this week at Belle, W. Va., will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Stout Funeral Home in Nelsonville. Mr. Martin, a W. Virginia mine employee at the time of his death, was a railroader in Nelsonville before he left Ohio 24 years ago.
  Surviving Mr. Martin are one sister, Mrs. George Beagle, of Nelsonville, and one brother, Osby Martin, of Sweet Mine, Utah. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening and Monday."
