Note:   According to her death certificate data in the Ohio Death Index, Eva's maiden name was "Frost" and her mother's maiden name was "Howard". The record states that she was a widowed homemaker at the time of her death and had an eighth grade education.
  According to her 13 October 1996 obituary from an Athens County, Ohio newspaper, Eva died at Huston Nursing Home following "an extended illness". She "...attended school in Meigs County, and had lived on Armitage Road since 1930.
  She is survived by a daughter, Helen Channell of The Plains; two sons, William F. Bretz and Richard H. Bretz both of Athens; a granddaughter and husband, Donna and Garry Bruce of The Plains; a grandson and wife, Dana and Deanna Channell of The Plains; five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delno C. Bretz in 1952; a son, Leslie C. Bretz; five sisters, Ida Williams, Ina Bolin, Rosetta Rathburn, Cindy Burton, and Melissa Logan, and two brothers, William and Emmett Frost."
