He spent his life caring for his mother and his younger siblings. Sherm's obituary in the Friday, 9 December 2005 The Review (Alliance, Stark County, Ohio) is as follows: "Frank Sherman Hagan, 84, of 31307 Hagan Road, Hanoverton, Ohio, died at Aultman Hospital in Canton at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005. He was born Jan. 27, 1921, to Edward Charles and Mary Ellen (Coy) Hagan in Carroll County, Ohio. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and he loved to play the guitar. Survivors include two sisters, Miss Dorothy Hagan of Rocky River, Ohio, and Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Pifer of Minerva; two brothers, Harry (Margaret) Hagan and Thomas Hagan, both of Minerva; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were four sisters, Edith, Ruth, Evelyn and Stella, and five brothers, Don [this child was stillborn and, according to the death certificate, was never named], John, Charles, Lawrence and William. Funeral services will be held at the Maple-Cotton Funeral Home in Kensington at 11 a.m Monday, Dec. 12, with Pastor Brian Scott officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to the American Red Cross."
