  In the 1900 Meigs County, Ohio Census, Katie is identified as married (and listed as "Jestina Spencer") in the home of her parents in Bedford Township. Her young son, James Edward Spencer, resides with her also. Her husband does not live in the household. The record states that she is the mother of one child and that he is living.
  According to the 1910 Mason County, West Virginia Census, as of that time, Katie was the mother of two children, both of whom were living. The record states that both of her parents were born in Ohio.
