Note: In the 1910 Stark County, Ohio Census, he is identifed as "Lester C.". In the 1920 Stark County, Ohio Census, he is identified as "Charles Lester", is single, works as a farm laborer at the home farm, and resides at home with his parents in Lexington Township. Charles never married. Charles' obituary in the Thursday, 1 May 1975 Alliance Review is as follows: "After a short illness, Charles Lester Freshley, 82, died Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph Nist Geriatric Center where he resided. A retired farmer, Mr. Freshley lived his life in the Marlboro area. He was born Oct. 20, 1893 in Columbiana County, a son of the late Emmanuel and Isadore Wallace Freshley. His survivors include two brothers, Glenn of Alliance and Leonard of Atwater and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday at noon at the Mount Union Cemetery with the Rev. Edwin Jeffries, pastor of Science Hill United Church of Christ, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Cassaday and Turkle Funeral Home handled the arrangements."
