Note: She was often known as "Jennie". According to the 1900 Hocking County, Ohio Census, as of that time, Jennie is the mother of two children, both of whom are living. In the 1910 Hocking County, Ohio Census, Jennie is Head of Household and is identified - erronesouly (she is divorced according to her marriage record to her second husband) as widowed. The record states that, as of that time, she is the mother of two children, one of whom is living, and that both of her parents were born in Wales. 51-year-old Wilbert Hillis, born in Ohio, resides with her as a border. Jennie's cause of death was typhoid fever with pneumonia being a secondary cause. The informant for her death record was her second husband, George Dennis. **Her tombstone and her death certificate provide her birthdate as 3 January 1870; however, this date significantly conflicts with the birthdate of her younger brother, David, who was bor 1 January 1870, as well as with ages given for Jennie prior to the 1880 Census.
