In the 1870 Columbiana County, Ohio Census, William is 13.
In the 1880 Columbiana County, Ohio William is called "David" and is 23. He resides at home with his father and step-mother.
*His father's Pension File states that he was born in 1856 whereas his headstone states 1855.
William is buried next to his half-brother, Daniel, and his father, Jesse, and step-mother, Elizabeth.
In the 1900 Columbiana County, Ohio Census, William and his daughter live together but his wife, Mary, is not listed as a resident of the household. However, William identifies himself as married. Family tradition states that William and Mary divorced.
