Terrill's obituary in the Monday, 30 December 2002 The Alliance Review page 2 is as follows: TERRILL S. DAVIS "Terrill S. Davis, 79, of Alliance, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at home. He was born March 26, 1923 in Bladen, Ohio to Walter S. and Edwina Marina (Lewis) Davis. A 1941 graduate of Mercerville High School, he was a machinist at Carnation Machine for five years and a former partner of Superior Tool and Die for 19 years until retiring in 1988. Mr. Davis was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years and was a former superintendent for the church school. He also was a member and past president of the Lexington Ruritan Club and a member of Promise Keepers. Terrill was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces as a flight officer in the 82nd Airborne, flying C47's and Gliders. He is survived by his wife, Helen Waugaman Davis, whom he married April 4, 1981; two sons, Jerry W. (Patricia) Davis of Homeworth and Brian L. (June) of Ravenna; a daughter, Janice M. Davis of Alliance; a stepson, Pat Devine of North Benton, a stepdaugher, Sherry Dragich of Atwater; a brother Walter W. (Pat) Davis, and two sisters, Loueva (Kenneth) Ours and Ila Hineman, all of Gallipolis; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Freshley Davis in 1980; two sisters; a brother, and a stepdaughter. Services wil be held at 1 p.m Tuesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Pastor Kenneth Price officiating. Burial will be at Marlboro Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and two hours prior to services Tuesday at the church.
