Note: George was Mattie's second husband of five. She grew a year younger every time she married. When George married her, he had to get written permission from his dad James and that note is in the record. I think she gave my mother her recipe for ridding unwanted husbands: soup ala ground glass. Her "preferred" birth date was 2 Apr1884.
