a. Note:   From the Letters of Charles P. Massa, dated Feb. 1996: Grandpa Charley had a brother named Giacomo (Jim) who married Lisa (Elizibeth). I don't know if the two brothers came to America at the same time, but I remember hearing that Lisa was from some other part of Italy. Jim and Lisa lived there lives out on a small farm in the small village of Centenary a few miles away from Clinton, IN. They had four sons and a daughter. The daughter was born when Lisa was 50 years old. Way to go, Uncle Jim! Their names are: James, Charles, John, Jules, and Kathryn, who turned out to be pretty, blue-eyed blond. Jim Massa shows up in the 1910 census. Approximate birth year is 1879.
