Obituary: April 8, 1926 (The Bedford Star?) DEATH COMES TO EVIN REYNOLDS Funeral Services From Shiloh Church Friday Afternoon Evin Reynolds, 60-odd years of age, passed away Wednesday forenoon at 9:30 o'clock at his home two miles west of Feyetteville following an illness from complications brought about by his extreme years. He is survived by the widow (Leota) his two sons, (Lisker & Don) and one daughter (Pearl). Funeral Services will be conducted from the Shiloh church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and interment will follow in the cemetery there.
From the letter of Donald C. Reynolds: "My dad (Don) was very angry, at his Mom, (Leotta) for re-marrying, after Gabriels death, and, her "new" husband (Logan B. Wagner?) - inheriting all the land!!! You must understand - my Mom & Dad, were divoriced - before I was even born, ergo: I am able to only relay - 'bits & pieces' - as I can recall my few visits to my Dad!!" "I can remember - as a very small boy - my Dad (Don) showing me the grave - I do believe - of his Dad! (Gabriel) The grave is directly behind the very, very 'old' church. I have noticed that most, if not all, of the churches and graveyards - in that part of Lawrence Co. - have 'sinkholes', caused by dripping water thru the limestone."
Newspaper clipping provided by Viola Reynolds: DON REYNOLDS: Don Reynolds, 68, R. 1, Williams, died at 12:10 a.m. today at Dunn Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years. He was born June 15, 1906 in Lawrence County to GABRIEL EVAN and Leota Wagner Reynolds. He was a hooker and welder in local stone mills. He married Esther Hawkins in early life. Surviving are two sons, Sylvestal of California, and Donald C. of Seymour; one daughter, Phyllis Ione Massa, Richmond; eight grandchildren; one brother, Herman of R. 1, Williams; and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Mayo, Muncie. A brother, Lisker, died March 31, 1971.
