Note: From the family records of Mary Esther Hawkins provided by Paul W. Hawkins. Grover and his daughter, Ruth, were killed in a car / train accident in Indianapolis on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov 27th, 1924, on their way to dinner. The other members of his family were also seriously injured in the accident. Grover and his daughter are buried at the Bartlettsville Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawrence County.
