Note: LUNA CHAPMAN MCPIKE appears in the 1860 census for Lawrence Co. Pg 650 shows Luna, 29, Ind., Farm Laborer; Sarah, 24, Ind.; Polly, 6, Ind.; Clementine, 4, Ind.; Cora, 2, Ind. Luna served in Co F, 93rd Ind Infantry entering August 18, 1862. He serves in the Mississippi campaign, was reported ill on several occasions, and was mustered out on July 9, 1865. Sarah filed for a widows pension - it indicates that he died about 7 months before the birth of his son, Nov 28, 1872, or about April 1872. He was provided a Union Soldier Tombstone. There are the graves of 4 young children buried next to him in the Hawkins Cemetary - Eunice d. Mar 16, 1866, age 9 (or 4?); Marshall, Peter, Stephen.
