He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Arleen Niedt French, of Key Colony Beach and originally St. Louis, Mo., his son Joseph Bard French II, of Conifer, Co., and his daughter, Helen French Graves, of Hanover, Ma., along with five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. French was executive vice president of sales at Steelcote Manufacturing Co. before relocating to Florida, where he was a real estate broker. Mr. French was a well-known, longtime decoy collector. Donations in his memory may be made to The Ward Museum, 909 S. Schumaker Drive, Salisbury, M.D. 21804.
