a. Note:   t three sons were born and they all came to America in the later part of the 19th century. Records in Germany show additional spellings of the Boensch surname as Baensch, B�nisch, Boenisch, B�hnsch, B�hnisch, Boehnsch, Boenisch, Bensch and B�nsch. These names all seemed to be used interchangeably. In Bohemia, there is a Czech or Slovak name Bene�. The last c is pronounced like a "ch" in English. It is possible that Boensch is simply the Germanic version of Beni�. An 1855 description of M�nsterberg stated it was about 35 miles south of Breslau with a population of about 4000. The city was enclosed by walls, had breweries and munufacturers of plush and cotton stuffs.
