Note: George A. Wilson & Avis's daughter, Hattie, lived with Grandparents George & Harriet Shoemaker, after Wilson was killed in the Civil War. As newlyweds, James and Avis received the gift of 160 acres from the wealthy Shoemakers. Later the Holdens lost this land and moved to Fryett, Fulton Co., Arkansas. See George Shoemaker notes. Ruth Annie had it machine quilted in the 1940's. Avis Blakeman then had this quilt and gave it to Ruth I. Stude in 1992.
