  Dec. 21, 1831 Penn Yan Enquirer: In Milo, on Wednesday the 14th. by Elder Amos Chase, mr. William Holden to Miss Eliza Ann Nichols. ----- The 1923 book The Holden Genealogy, Vol. 1-2; Descendants of Richard and Justinian Holden; by Eben Putnam, it has that Amasa Holden and Abigail Pratt had a son William Holden who married "Mary Nichols". This takes Amasa Holden's tree back to William Holden b. cir 1553, the father of Richard Holden b. 1609. It says that Amasa's son William Holden was living in Hopewell, Ontario Co., NY in 1867. In 1865 census, William & Eliza Holden are in NY, Ontario Co., Hopewell twp. William Holden was a postmaster at Dresden, Torrey Twp., Yates Co., NY in 1848. On the 1850 census William & Eliza Holden are in NY, Yates Co., Benton twp., Roll #855, pg. 107a. On the 1860 census William & Eliza Holden in NY, Yates Co., Torrey twp., pg 12 (502). Both Torrey twp. and Benton twp. are near Penn Yan, just to the north. The Holden Genealogy, Vol. 1-2; Descendants of Richard and Justinian Holden; by Eben Putnam, pg. 43: Amasa Holden's son, William Holden, married Mary Nichols (all other records show her Eliza Ann), daughter of Isaac Nichols of Milo, NY. Note: Amasa Holden was a cabinetmaker/furniture maker. He died in Penn Yan, NY. Some of his things are in museums in Montomery Co., NY and California! ----- From William H. Holden's Last Will and Testament:
  William H. Holden's wife, Eliza Ann Holden, was originally buried in Waterloo, N.Y. - I believe sometime around 1870 - 1875. In William's will, he directs his daughter, Cynthia Pearche to exhumed "my first wife Eliza Ann Holden" and have her buried in the cemetery known as the "Sand Hill Cemetery" in the town of Seneca. He also directs that he be buried in the same lot and further that Cynthia Pearce purchase a lot for said purpose."
