a. Note:   Photo from the Tregemba Family photo album, labeled: "Mr. George Lathrop, Mrs. Clara Lathrop, when they were first married. Her maiden name Clara Pierce." Then added was "Cousins of Clara Holden Tregemba". Photographer's information on the back : Crandall Photographic Art Studio, Main St., Canandaiqua, NY" ----------- Richard & Ann Lathrop: Buster Lathrop, son of Leon, writes that Leon said Clara Pearce Lathrop's father, William Pearce, fought in the Civil War and was reported dead so her mother, Cynthia, married again. Then William came home and he didn't know what happened. According to a newspaper article for Cynthia Holden Pearce's 90th birthday, she married Hezekiah Aspell (aka Asbell) when she was 20 yrs. old. They had one daughter, Minnie. Aspell died 3 yrs later and the family's oral history is that she remarried Wm. Pearce at that time. The newpaper article named Wm. and Cynthia the parents of the other children. Family buried at Sand Hill Cemt. are William Holden with Wm. & Cynthia Pearce next to the shed; and to the east of the shed is the location of Clara & George W.
