In the matter of the application for Letters of Administration on the Estate of Abraham Burkholder deceased. County of Ontario, to wit: I, Peter S. Bonesteel, of the town of Victor being duly sworn and examined, do depose and say that I am a son-in-law of said Abraham Burkholder; that said deceased departed this life on the [BLANK] date of May A. D. 1852 without leaving any last will and testament, to my knowledge, information or belief, that said deceased died a natural death, and died possessed of certain personal property in the State of New York, the value whereof does not exceed the sum of about four thousand dollars, as I have been informed and believe; that said deceased has left heirs surviving: his sons John & Leonard and his daughters Elizabeth, wife of Allen P. Billings, Mary S., wife of applicant, Harriet, wife of George Shoemaker, Lucinda wife of Tennis Brizzee, Cordelia, wife of John Keyser, and the children of his deceased daughter, Ann, are Catherine, Harriet, Hiram and Franklin French who are severally of full age except said children of Ann French who are minors; that this deponent is of full age: that said deceased was at or immediately previous to his death an inhabitant of Ontario County. And I pray that Letters of Administration be granted on the estate of said deceased, by the Surrogate of the County of Ontario, to me said Bonesteel in sight of my said wife and that is usual citation to said ___ may be issued by said Surrogate. Shoemaker, and his wife Anna Case Shoemaker. On the tombstone their surname is spelling Shumaker. On all probate records and many censuses it is spelled Shoemaker. A. Schoonmaker of Hopewell died of pneumonia last Saturday, and at the time of her death her husband was so low with the same disease that it was not thought advisable to inform him of her death.
