(Note: Peter was about 15 yrs. and George was about 13 yrs.; Daniel's age unknown) Peter was about 15 yrs. and George was about 13 yrs.; Daniel's age unknown. Jeremiah was born 1774 so he would be 46 yrs. old, the oldest male in this census. So many of his children could be married or moved on. So that doesn't fit well for George and Peter, BUT errors are common in census and the 2 may have been in the wrong column and instead of under 10 should have been of ten and under sixteen -- or some of the older boys could have already gone to work as servant. It is odd that the males jump from under 10 to 16 - 18yrs. ------------------------------- SHUMAKER, JEREMIAH (1810 Census) NY, ULSTER CO., KINGSTON; Pg. 149 JEREMIAH SHUMAKER 2-1-0-0-1-0-0-3-0-0-0-1 8 Total Persons: 2 free males; 1 under 10, 1 male 26-45 (Peter about 5 yrs.; George 3 yrs.; Daniel's age unknown -- ) -------------------------------- SHOEMAKER, ELIJAH (1820 Census) NY , ONTARIO CO., CANADAIGUA, pg. 15 (maybe another relative for Jeremiah.)
