Note: Avis Blakeman: When I was a small child, Uncle Gene was a bachelor and lived at home. We children thought he was the greatest. We would climb all over his lap, he would always let us play with his watch fob and chain. He always sent us a box of presents for Christmas. He was the only grown-up that gave us toys. I remember one gift to me was a baking set. Frances received a set of play silverware and one of the boys got a geographic lotto game. He just knew what we'd like best for Christmas! _____________ Lila Mae Tregemba Abram: On the 4th. of July, Dad would wake us up with firecreackers under our bedroom windows. --------------------------- Ottawa Herald, Ottawa, KS Oct. 5, 1960 (died 10-04-60) EUGENE J.
