Notes
a. Note:   Gertrude Sherry's "Our Ancestors": About 1864 the production of both tin and copper from the mines was diminishing seriously, so William Henry with his older brother, John, and nephews William Henry and John Tregear (sons of their sister, Annie) left Cornwall for America in 1866. Upon arriving in Michigan, the men worked briefly in the Copper Country, but soon left there with four companions, William, James, & John Tribilcock and William Perry. The men walked about eighty miles to Ishpeming and found work in the iron mines. Soon after, William Henry sent for his family.

Wm. Tregembo passed away at the good old age of eighty years. Capt. Tregembo was for thirty six years underground captain of the Lake Angeline Mine prior to which time he had work at the Lake Superior and the Salisbury Mines, being among the pioneers in their development. When he retired from his position at the Lake Angeline due to increased years and bodily ailments, he was succeeded by his son, Obadiah, whose death occurred last year while on a visit to Kansas. Capt. Tregembo was a high grade miner who worked at this vocation from boyhood, being employed in the mines of Cornwall before coming to America. He was a good citizen, considerate of the rights of those under him and was a great favorite. He leaves two daughters. ---------------------------------- LDS films: Cornwall, England Records; Germoe Church Records; Breage Church records. All on file in Family Hist. Center, 7001 E. 13th.
