Note: circa Feb 26, 2008 Marjorie Yvonne Tregemba was born to William J. and Linnie Pearl (Bray) Tregemba on June 1, 1919, in rural Osage County, Kansas near Overbrook. She attended schools in Overbrook, and graduated from Overbrook High School in 1737. After high school she moved to Topeka, and worked as a receptionist. She married Edward Messenger on May 17, 1934 in the Overbrook Methodist Church. The couple moved to Salina where she was an active member of University United Methodist Church. On Monday, February 25, 2008 Marjorie died at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Messenger; parents, William and Linnie Tregemba; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Tregemba; a sister, Maxine Tregemba. She is survived by her nephews Bob Tregemba and his wife Kelli of Castle Rock, Colorado; Bill Tregemba and his wife Pam of Topeka; Carrol Houghton and his wife Ruth of Roxbury; nieces Michelle Tregemba and her husband Ed Klein of Great Falls, Montana; and Kathy Ahlenius and her husband George of Elmhurst, Illinois; and sisters-in law-Edith Houghton of Lindsborg and Virginia Tregemba of Las Vegas; and many extended family members and friends. ------ http://www.salina.com/rdobituaries/story/messenger022808 Marjorie Y. On May 17, 1964, she was united in marriage with Edward R. Messenger. He died on April 29, 2003. She was a resident of Salina for over forty years, moving from Topeka where she had served as a clerk at the State House and a secretary at a doctors office.
