a. Note:   n city merchants. The Venerable Archdeacon A. Hombersley, Rector, officiated. The bride was led up the aisle by her brother who gave her in marriage to the strains of "The Voice that Breathe O'er Eden" by the organ, Mr. Harold Burnett presiding, the service being non-choral. There were no bridesmaids, but Mr. G. E. L. Guppy, brother to the bridegroom, attended as bestman. Miss Doris Legge rendered very effectively that fine solo "O for the Wings of a Dove", to the beautiful setting by Mendelsshon. The great composer's Wedding March was played at the conclusion of the ceremony, after which the guests repaired to Ivydene, Dere Street, the residence of the bride's brother, where the reception was held. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Guppy left by motor launch to Caledonia Island to spend their honeymoon.
