  From the time that she married John Eaton in St Matthew's Church at Windsor on 17 January 1831 when she was only seventeen, Mary Ann faced the rigours of pioneering life. Within months her first rough ride through the ranges to Wollombi Brook was behind her, and she was helping establish the farm at Bulga on John's new land grant.
