Eather Family Newsletter of June 1987 advised that William travelled from Maryborough to Richmond to marry Julia, his cousin.
William spent 2 years at a boarding school in Sydney according to shipping items 1864 and 1865.
Reputed to be a heavy drinker, he died of a heart attack at age 39 at "Teebar" station where Julia had taken him. They had no children.
