Notes
a. Note:   Thomas and Susannah went to live on "Tiaro" Station which he was to manage for his father-in-law and Uncle, John Eaton, who had taken over the run on the 1850's. In 1863 a survey was made for the proposed township of Tiaro, and land was also surveyed into farming blocks. Thomas and Susannah bought a block which they named 'Clydesdale'. Thomas later leased other blocks which he named 'Redbank' where he and Susannah lived for many years. 'Tiaro' Station had ceased to exist and so the township of Tiaro began. In July 1868 Thomas was granted a publican's licence and the Tiaro Hotel opened for business. After a year of hectic business, Thomas and Susannah returned to farming. Susanah's sister Charlotta and her husband, William Inman came down from Maryborough and took over the hotel in December 1868. Thomas and Susannah had fifteen children, however five were to die in infancy, three of them over a period of eighteen months. In July 1916 Thomas was involved in an accident and he dislocated a hip and suffered other injuries, from which he never fully recovered. He died at his home three months later on the 3rd October. He was buried in the Tiaro Cemetery. Thomas was shown as a wheelwright when married.

Note:   Marriage of first cousins. A double wedding as her sister Charlotte was married on the same day.
