  Harris County Court, Texas On this, the 19th day of December, A.D., 1933, came on to be heard the application of Mrs. Violet Doucet, for letters of guardianship of the persons and estates of Beverly Doucet, Agnes Doucet, Frances Doucet, and Martha Doucet, minors, under fourteen years of age; and it appearing to the Court that due notice of said application has been given, and that said minors have no lawful guardian of their persons and estates, and that the said Mrs. Violet Doucet is qulified to receive letters of guardianship. It is therefore ordered by the Court that the said Mrs. Violet Doucet be & is hereby appointed guardian of the persons & estates of the said Beverly Doucet, Agnes Doucet, Frances Doucet and Martha Doucet, minors, and that letters of guardianship issue to her on her giving bond in the sum of Twenty-five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00), payable & conditioned as required by law, and taking the oath within twenty days. The estate consisting entirely of money, there is no necessity for appraisers. Inventory & Appraisement of the Estate of Beverly Doucet, Frances Doucet, Agnes Doucet, & Martha Doucet, minors produced before the undersigned Appraisers on the 28th day of February 1934 by Mrs. Violet Doucet, guardian, of said estate 1. Cash belonging to estate February 21, 1934 $1,199.40 There being no real properity in the estate, there is not necessity for the signature of appraisers.
  Harris County Court, Texas Now comes Mrs. Violet Doucet, guardian of the persons & estates of Beverly Doucet, Agnes Doucet, Francis Doucet, & Martha Doucet, minors, and asks that she be allowed to withdraw from the estate of said minors the sum of Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per month for the support & maintenance of said minors, which sum she says is reasonable for such purpose. Attorney for Guardian The Judge signed the order 3rd May 1935.
  On 13th Jan. 1939, Mrs. Violet Doucet filed her final account in said guardianship. This guardian showed that her last annual account covered the period from March 1936 to January 2, 1937, and that at said time there was a balance of cash on hand in the amount of $457.22; that by order of the Court she was allowed to withdraw $20.00 per month for the support of said minors, and she would now show that the entire amount of said $457.22 has now been used for said purpose. Wherefore, there being no further funds in this estate, this guardian prays that she, together with her Bondsmen, be discharged & said estate closed.
  OBIT FOR VIOLET ENGLEMAN DOUCET NEWBERRY (Feb. 1995) HOUSTON CHRONICLE Funeral services for Violet NewBerry, 96, of Baytown will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 1995 at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown with the Revs. Mark Gossett and Billy Joe Tate officiating. Burial will be at Cedarcrest Cemetery. Newberry died Nov. 7 at a local hospitAL A resident for 74 years, she moved to Pelly in 1919. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, of T.E.L. Sunday School at Central Baptist and of Golden Years, at Central Baptist Church also. She was preceded in death by her husbands Adam Doucet in 1933 and J.J. Newberry in 1976. Newberry is survived by daughters and son-in-laws Beverly and Bob Garvey of Baytown, Frances Tomek of Houston, Agnes and Beano Baker of Baytown, and Martha and Cecil Sick of Houston; sons and daughters-in-law Bob and Margaret Newberry of Sand Springs, Ok. and Curtis and Patsy NewBerry of Baytown; 15 grandchildren: Kathryn Hunter, Vertis G. Tomek, C.E. Sick Jr., Randy Sick, and Steven Stewart all of Houston; Matt Baker, Kim Campbell, Dena Matheson and Susan Adrian, all of Baytown; James Baker of Texas City; Janis Campbell of Dallas, Kent Sick of Austin; Reggie Stewart of Galveston; the Rev. Ronnie Newberry of Elm Springs, AR; and Kay Watson on Ruston, La. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren: Denise Holmes Hunter of Belleview, Wa.; Jeff Holmes Hunter of Pullman, Wa.; Melissa Sick of Houston; Paul Michael Barrickman of Houston; Cameron Campbell, Katie Campbell, Lindsay Meadows, Josh Matheson and Brittany Matheson, all of Baytown; Jimmie Jackson, Travis Jackson, Kevin Watson and Robin Watson, all of Ruston, La.; Saundra Owen of Broken Arrow, Ok.; Christine Campbell of Bryan; Mathew Campbell of Bryan; Courtney Joy Baker of Crosby; and Airman Thomas E. Hayes of Lackenheath Air Force Base in London, England. Also surviving are 2 great-greatgrandchildren: Kegan Adrian of Baytown and Adam Fagihy of Belleview, Wa. The pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Vertis G. Tomek, C.E. Sick Jr., Kent Sick, Randy Sick, Matt Baker, James Baker and the Rev. Ronnie Newberry. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. For those desiring, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church or to Sterling Municipal Library. Arrangements are under the direction of Earthman Funeral Directors.
