On Sunday, July 6, 1884, Benjamin and Ella were baptised by Brother John Fergason, just one week before their marriage. In 1943, Ella Marion Stagner said the following to Loriane Gillaspy Bazemore (who typed it for her):
We tried to start our married life right in our poor and humble way. We tried to serve the Lord the best we could. We always tried to go to church, and take our children, and tried to raise them in the church as they should be. He passed away and left me on Nov. 11, 1902. Some of our children were real small, but some of his last words of love and advice was to teach the children that "I cannot come to them, but for them to come to me". After all of these years his words are still clear to me. I am still trying to do his will and what the Lord wants me to do. Pilot me on Mighty Savior till life's Fearful Storms are Past, That through hope and faith triumphant, I may anchor safe at last. Benjamin Franklin Parker and Ella Marion Stagner were married on Sunday, July 13, 1884 by Brother John Fergason, a minister of the Church of Christ. To this union there were born seven children.
