Leftridge was born in Virginia. He was a justice of the peace in Morgan County Illinois. He and Martha did not marry until he was 58 years old. They did not have children. He is buried next to her in the Walker family plot in Yatesville Cemetery (also called Old Baptist Burying Ground).
