From my mom's comments (July 2001): My dad had come home the morning of his death after working 3rd shift, he went to lay down which was unusual for him. When he got back up to clean up in the bathroom for breakfast; my mom was standing there with him asking if he wanted to see the doctor my mom was working for when he took her to work. He said he would, and the next thing my mom knew as he was standing at the sink, was that his eyes rolled back and he fell to the floor; she was not able to get the doctor on the phone, she called my dad's boss who had just droped him off at the house a short time ago and he got the emergeny crews out to the house. Curt (Virginia's Son) also came to the house that morning. The paramedics told my mom that there was nothing she could have done. An autopsey showed that a blood clot stopped the heart, and if it would have passed the heart would have ended up in the brain cousing a massive stroke.
Stan and Margrett were neighbors of my parents in the trailer park in Springfield. Stan worked with my dad at Uncle Joe's furniture and carpet cleaning business until we left for AZ on 16 May 1963.
