Notes
a. Note:   Ada Lindsey Hughes, E-Mail Ada, family genealogist researching Landy (b. ca 1740 Virginia d. 1793 Wilmington, Fluvanna County Va.) and Catharine Quarles Lindsey. Ada is the 4th great granddaughter to Landy (ca 1740 VA - 1793 Fluvanna County VA) and Catharine Quarles Lindsey. By 1805, Catharine and several sons moved to Jessamine/Woodford County, Kentucky. Son, Henry, died in Woodford, Kentucky. In 1823, 3 or 4 sons were in Hinds County, Mississippi. Those sons were Landy W. (b. 1 Feb, 1780, d. 1849), William B. (b. ca 1784, d. 5 Oct, 1830), Joseph (b. ca 1775, d. 1836), and possibly Nathaniel. Other sons moved (also in 1823) to Cass/Morgan County, Illinois. Those sons included Allen Quarles Lindsey (b. 6 July, 1771, d. 29 Nov 1861), and possibly James. This Lindsey lineage has been DNA tested and proven a part of DNA Group 3 .
