  BURLINGTON - Gerald Albert Wilder, 93, a longtime resident of Burlington, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015, in Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home.
  Gerry was born, with his twin brother, on March 4, 1922, the loving son of Harold F. Wilder and Margaret Ellen Leddy Wilder.
  Gerry spent his early years living and working on area farms with his family. They moved to Burlington in 1934, where during school Gerry contracted Tuberculosis and spent time away from home recovering in Pittsford, Vt.
  After returning home, and more recovery, he went to work and was employed by Magrams the Fashion Shop and the Hotel Vermont working as the elevator operator for many years.
  Gerry thoroughly enjoyed Burlington and living at his family home on Monroe Street.
  In 1966, the family moved to Woodlawn Road, where he lived until moving to Birchwood Terrace in February 2013.
  Before his illness, Gerry could be seen on any given day walking North Avenue to take the bus to Burlington where he had many longtime friends and acquaintances.
  He was predeceased by his parents; twin brother, Harold; and nephew, Gary Chicoine.
  Gerry will be laid to rest at Resurrection Park in a private service at the convenience of the family.
  The Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 71 So. Union St., Burlington, is in care of arrangements.

  Gerry is survived by his sister, Virginia Wilder Chicoine; nieces and nephew, Gail Chicoine, Lynn (Mark) LeClerc, Brian (Rose) Chicoine, and Joanne (Lee) Cross; and great-nieces, nephews, their spouses, and their children. He was predeceased by his parents; twin brother, Harold; and nephew, Gary Chicoine.
  The family wishes to say thank you to his physician, Zail Berry, MD, the wonderful staff and all his friends at Birchwood Terrace, the staff at Pace Vermont, Home Instead, and CVAAA.
