Note: Arlene Lois Pecola
CONWAY - Arlene Lois Pecola, 66, of Hobbs Street in Conway, died on July 4, 2000, at the Hospice House in Concord after a long battle with cancer. She was born on Aug. 14, 1933, in Center Harbor, the daughter of the late Harry and Lois (Copp) Abbott Sr. She resided in Conway for the last 15 years, and formerly resided in Raymond from 1964 to 1986. Pecola grew up in North Conway and graduated from Kennett High School. She was employed at Gemini Valve in Raymond and the Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul J. Pecola Sr., who died July 30, 1983; and two brothers, Harry Abbott Jr. and Arnold Abbott. She is survived by two sons; David (and wife, Ann) Pecola of Hampton, Paul J. (and wife, Claire) Pecola Jr. of Raymond; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Malcolm (and wife, Jane) Abbott of Conway, and George (and wife, Polly) Abbott of Albany; one sister, Frances (and husband, Albert) Turgeon of Princeton, Maine; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on July 8 At 10 a.m. at the Conway Village Cemetery in Conway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice House, 240 Pleasant Street, Concord, N.H. 03302. Brewitt Funeral Home in Exeter is handling the arrangements.
