a. Note:   Hazel C. Seibert Aug. 28, 1905 - Aug. 7, 2006 Resident of Martinez Passed away in her sleep in the early morning hours of Monday, August 7, 2006.
  Born in Portland Maine to Captain Charles Harry Perkins and Jenny Clary Perkins, she was the beloved wife of the late Richard W. Seibert Sr. Hazel was the First Violinist with the Portland Symphony in the 1920s, and worked with Crippled Childrens' Services in Martinez. She arrived in Martinez with her family on The City of San Francisco Streamliner in 1939, and immediately built a new home in Walnut Creek, moving to the "city" of Martinez after World War II, and has lived in Martinez for the last 60 years.
  Hazel is survived by her son, Richard Jr. of the family home in Martinez; her daughter, Barbara S. Hand (Tom) of San Diego; her grandchildren, Richard W. Seibert III of Berkeley and Alisa Panalagan (Arnel) of La Mesa California; along with her great-grandson, Alexander Panalagan.
  She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Seibert of Oakland, California; and her nieces, Hazel Jane Estey and Carolyn La Montagne of Maine. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Sr.; and her brothers, Charles and Willis Perkins. Graveside services will be held at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette on Monday August 14th at 2 p.m., the Reverend Norman Luecke, First Congregational Church of Martinez, officiating.
