a. Note:   David Shiltz tree: James G. Manbeck, born April 28 [sic] and died Oct. 5, 1901, aged 38 years, 5 months and 7 days. He was born near New Rumley and spent all his life at or near this place. He had been in failing health for the last year but was able to attend to his work until last spring when disease had so sapped his strength that he could not perform much labor. His physical body gradually grew weaker until only a few days before his death he took [sic] his bed, there to remain until the angel of death came to call him from labor to reward. He was a consistent member of the U. B. church of this place more than half his life, holding several offices in the church. The first of September marked the close of his being the Superintendent of the U. B. S. S., for the last year. This also marked the close of his work in the church militant, being unable to attend church longer. His funeral took place from his late residence in town, October 7, at 10 a. m., Rev. Lilly of the U. B. church officiating and cousins L. E., H. O., J. W., M. R. and A. B. Manbeck and W. E. Maxwell pall bearers. His remains, followed by a large number of sympathizing relatives and friends, were laid to rest in the U. B. cemetery there to await the call at the resurrection morn. He leaves a wife and little son and a host of friends to mourn their loss. ===== According to the obituary, James was buried at the New Rumley U. B. Cemetery. No stone is recorded for him in the Rumley Township Cemeteries book. ________________________________
