Cause of Death: Chronic Diarrhea, Shiloh, Tennessee. Typhoid fever. From Luella Obsharskys book on the family history of the Murrays: Andrew, Jr. was in the Michigan volunteers Company D. Fifteenth Regiment Michigan Infantry. It is said that a friend buried him so that the south wouldn't find his body. John McInnes saw to it that he had a proper burial in the National Cemetery, Shiloh, Tennessee. Section 2, Grave #761. Byron Stanbery, 1st cousin, once removed also in15th Michigan ,Company H (I wonder, did they know each other?)
