Note: RootsWeb Religion: Catholic Burial: Marble Park Cemetary, Milan, Michigan Education Only went to school one day From Louella Mae Obsharskys family history book: in 1884, Daniel and his brother Joseph bought a large section of land along what is now Milan-Oakville Road. East of Milan, Michigan. Daniels family lived in a log house built on the Northeast corner of Sanford and Milan-Oakville Roads. In 1884 he built the large white farmhouse on the corner. It is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Betts now. Daniel had a contract to cut and deliver all the ties for the Wabash Railroad from Detroit to near Adrian. 100 miles. Daniel had many race horses. He and his son John trained them and drove them in races. He also had apple orchards. His obituary reads: Mr. Murray was well known and highly esteemed by the people of Milan and vicinity, for he was a man who tended strictly to his own business, and so made lots of friends, but no enemies.
