Information from the book: Winneconne 1849-1949 by Daisy Rogers Manufacturer of bricks, inventor of trucks for moving large buildings, and, most important of all (to the children) owner of the village's only merry-go-round. The year 1853 brought Joseph Stansberry a builder and repairman of buggies and wagons. He settled on 10 acres of land on the west side. He later built a factory (kiln) and manufactured bricks from 1873 to 1884. He was considered a genius. He did his own iron work, moved buildins on a truck he invented himself, and made a merry-go-round with cutters and ponies and a never to be forgotten music box.
